The Mtrack system can provide a more precise location during recovery by working out unit's position relative to the nearest mobile phone transmitter. Typically, the location is sub 500 meters; more accuracy can be achieved in urban areas.
The built-in directional RF homing device enables tracking of the unit to an accuracy of sub 1 meter. National tracking network locates the unit on behalf of the customer. Once the asset is located or positively identified, the police are called in to make arrests and reclaim the asset.
Mtrack unit Configuration
As Mtrack unit spends much of its life in 'standby' mode, the internal battery has a long life. Mtrack unit is programmed and controlled by text messages (SMS) - if the unit is in 'standby' mode, messages are stored in the network until it wakes up.
The Mtrack unit is configured to work in two cycles - 'standby' mode for a set amount of hours and 'wake' mode. When awake, the unit switches on and connects to the network for one minute to check for messages and register its location with the mobile phone operator. This cycle continues to throughout unit's life.
Unit in alarm mode
Even in standby mode Mtrack protects. The unit's alarm can be activated by following:
- Unit alarms if someone attempts to remove the anti-tamper switch
- A built-in motion sensor can wake up the unit and create an alarm if the unit is moved. The sensor can be switched on and off remotely and programmed to alarm only when set conditions are met, i.e. 1 minute continuous movement.
- ARC sends a message to MTrack Unit to alarm next time it is in the 'wake' mode.
Asset location and recovery
When the unit is in 'standby' mode the ARC has to interrogate the mobile phone operators systems to get a map reference of where the unit last connected to the network. When in 'wake' mode, the ARC can request the unit's location by text message to get real time location information - this gives greater accuracy and a smaller search area for the recovery teams.
Features:
- No external wiring or antennas - the unit is hard to find and easy to install
- Self-powered - up to 4 year battery life
- Works indoors and outdoors
- Compact-size unit
- Operated remotely by GSM and Radio Frequency (RF)
- Track2Find, a purpose built software for Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) monitoring
- Mtrack Remote Control (RC) allows motion sensor activation
