Audio Verification
The basis of Audio Confirmation is to enable an Alarm Receiving Centre operator to listen in to a premises that has signalled an alarm activation and allow the ARC operator to confirm if the alarm activation is genuine.
Confirmation of intruder alarm activations is now a requirement under the ACPO 2000 Security Systems Policy.
This can be done through sequential, audio or visual confirmation. The CSL Audio Unit allows the addition of Audio onto the Ademco Range of Control Panels in order for them to be able to do Audio confirmation.
CSL Audio Verification Unit
The CS5000 Is a compact AVU designed to provide confirmation of an unauthorised intruder presence. The system comprises a small, low current control unit housed in the same enclosure as the alarm panel.
It has two independent microphone inputs with an auto-learn feature that enables it to be easily connected to the majority of control panels. The unit also has clean changeover relay contacts to silence the internal alarm siren whether recording or transmitting unauthorised sounds.
Microphones are housed in a small plastic case that can be surface or corner mounted and each has a two-wire connection designed to operate over long lengths of standard
alarm cable without suffering from interference.
The CS5000 has 2 channels, each channel taking 4 microphones or inputs allowing a total of 8 per standard system. These channels can accept microphones or a 16 microphone extender hub. In addition, there is a plug-on CS5020 expansion board that increases the basic 2 channels to 8.
In addition hubs can be used to extend and control other hubs making a completely versatile system suitable for large grouped installations.
An expanded system (32+ microphones) also has four pre-recorded messages that can be played back on–site under alarm system control or alarm receiving centre commands, with two auxiliary programmable outputs under alarm receiving centre control. Pre-recorded messages might include ‘intruder on-site’ or ‘System armed – please leave’ and ‘deviation from the entry route’ to reduce false alarm scenarios.
